RELATIONSHIPS

Relationships are always intricate.

Intricacy is complex
& complexity is difficult to master

yet to submit to it is sublime.

UNTITLED POEM - 10.01.09

Nex' time you look back thru all your past lives in an instant, baby,
Baby - don' just let it go on - baby, write it all down, me babies,
Tell the world what it is like to remember your SELF.

Oh! - the pain, the tears I 'a'cry-cry-cried
of pure liquid-acid-suffering-and-joy-and-love-and-peace-and-anger-and-fame-and-waste-and-greed-and-sex-and-faith-and-hope-and-war-and-pride-and-grief-and-shame.

Oh, the pain! Oh, the pain inside - the pain and the patience.

Ev'ry man I ever killed,
I was always a'dyin' at my own hand,
A'cuttin' of my lef' hand,
A'cuttin' off me right

Ev'ry movie I ever made,
I was always a'try-try-tryin' to a'point me to the light - too right! -
Me jelly babies, me jolly jelly babies,
My archangel babies bright

An' ev'ry war I ever fought on
It was meSELF I slaughtered!
What a plonker, not a monkey, what a waste,
White horse, white horse - you're wallpaper paste

Ev'ry bill I ever paid, I could have been makin' love instead,
Ev'ry lie I ever swallowed, I was a-lyin' to myself,
I was a lion, I was brave, I was a coward,
Shoulda gone, shoulda stayed

In the factories and the mills and in the plants and in the mines...
...in the bedroom... in the kitchen... in vietnam...
THE PAIN! THE LOVE! THE HEART INSIDE!
THE COCKS I SUCKED! THE TEARS I CRIED!

Q. Have you ever tried to watch TV on acid?

A. Welllll...
...I tried to watch TV on acid
But the TV just watch'd me,
Then the TV was on acid
And I was on TV.

CAPITALISM IS CANCER

What is a cancer? A cancer is a cell, or a group of cells, displaying uncontrolled growth, beyond the normal limits.

It strikes me that, as each splinter of our amazing new technology emerges, each shard is picked up &  boldly envisaged & realised by capitalist entrepreneurs - this is understandable as our culture is still deeply infected with  the cancer of Capitalism.

The need for collectively owned alternatives is clear, yet these do not appear to be forthcoming, despite the ease with which  they could be offered - with the proliferation of open source alternatives to the big players' services it should be all too simple.

My guess is that our open source programmers must be saving up for one big push, a simultaneous release of collectively owned alternatives, possibly in league with some of the big companies who have felt the direction the wind is blowing. A Revolution.

Thats a conspiracy theory, anyway, but it is the kind of conspiracy I like - provided any big-name 'collaborators' understand that collective ownership of the means of communication is essential. The internet is an extension of human consciousness, there cannot be 'for sale' signs in our own mind.

What is a cancer? A cancer is a cell, or a group of cells, displaying uncontrolled growth, beyond the normal limits.

This is not a metaphor, each of us is a cell in a collective mind. It is my view that this has always been the case, but that we have lost contact with this collective mindset due to the onslaught of  messages to GROW GROW GROW from the cancerous cells. It is not important whether my view is correct, whether the internet is allowing us to access a lost form of collective consciousness, or whether this collective consciousness IS the internet - the fact remains that I AM.
